Christmas Tree
At the beginning of the 19th century, Christmas trees were not yet common in Great Britain. It was Prince Albert, Queen Victoria’s German husband, who started the tradition. In 1841 he put up a Christmas tree at Windsor Castle. The event was reported in the press, and soon everybody wanted to have a Christmas tree at home.
