The 12 Days of Christmas

The 12 Days of Christmas start on Boxing Day and end on 6 January; so the 12 Days of Christmas are the last and first six days of a year. It used to be the time when people partied, visited their family and friends and did not work.

Christmas Day is not one of the 12 Days of Christmas. It was considered to be a holy day and not a day for parties.

The song “The 12 Days of Christmas” is a very popular Christmas carol.
