Inauguration Day
Inauguration Day is on 20 January. On the steps of the Capitol, the President is sworn in and must repeat the following oath:
“I do solemnly swear that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my Ability, preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States. So help me God.”
The President then holds his inaugural address before parading from the Capitol to the White House.
